“Arborist” is another name for a tree surgeon. Arborists practice arboriculture, which is the management and maintenance of trees. These trees can either be decorative or for shade. Arborists are not loggers, nor are they foresters. Arborists are specialists that focus their attention to the health of your trees, instead of entire tracts of timber.
Arborists are tree inspectors that look at individual trees to determine their health and safety. They give advice about pruning and maintaining viable trees. Arborists are also involved in planting, transplanting, tree support, disease diagnosis, disease prevention, pruning as well as lightening protection. An arborist also advises property owners as to which trees and undergrowth needs to be removed in order to have viable, healthy trees.
